Do you know by just standing alone you can burn your entire days worth of calorie intake.
I stand for my job (anywhere from 3-6 hours a day) and I have noticed since starting the kgs are dropping off. Not only that but I have tighter muscles around my stomach and all the jiggly bits are disappearing even though I'm still bigger iykwim? And my damaged ankle has seemed to repair itself and the swelling I've had there for the past 7 years has gone down
So besides the treadmill I'm making it my mission for every minute I am on the computer or doing an activity that requires sitting I must match it with standing. And if that means I stand whilst on the computer so be it. Try it and I bet you'll be surprised.
When I am working, I stand minimally - I catch the train to & from work (an hr travel each way) and I usually read a book so I find it easier to sit. I have just started getting off at Richmond and walking into work twice a week (30 min walk). I work in an office but do walk to the printer, photocopier/scanner, although most of the time I sit. At home, I am up a bit more except at night where I sit from about 7pm onwards....
Oooh, I hate standing. But then I fidget a lot when I'm sitting, so its not like I'm completely still. My diet and exercise regime at the moment involves sitting on my bum a lot, eating copious amounts of food and the weight is just falling off lol ... 13kg down and 7 to go!
I stand a fair bit, supervising children and often running after them And.... Oh yeah! I put my size 12 boardies on on the weekend, haven't worn them since the beginning of this year and YEEHA! They pretty much fall off! Thanks to standing and working I think! I certainly haven't changed my diet this year! OH YEAH!
A co-worker who relives at work sometimes hasn't been in for a while and gave me a huge compliment... Have you lsot weight? VERY nice
I think I'll go weigh myself, when I go near a scale. Darn not having amny scales, I haven't weighed myself since about January
