Okay, bub is 19weeks old on Saturday and exclusively breastfed
Recently he has stopped pooping every nappy (no complaints here) to once a day now, usually in the afternoon BUT his wind is offensive it puts any grown man to shame... the poo is not as bad in smell but is pretty bad
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it would be soo bad?
But when this happened to my little one at 2 months old it turned out to be a gastro virus that she had picked up from her sister (2.5 years). DD1 suffered the vomiting and DD2 suffered a mild bout of smelly farts and watery/smelly poos. I ended up having to treat her with probiotics to sort things out so maybe keep that in mind too.
It's a bit of detective work really, anything change in his diet etc recently??
Don't they go through a physical change in their digestive system around this age? Someone told me that once, that a few months prior to starting solids, their digestive system starts to mature in order to have different food (other than breastmilk), and that's why the shape and texture of their poo may change at this stage too. Not sure how true that is, though.
jackrose - my diet hasn't changed. I originally thought that might have been the case but I'm eating all the same stuff as before. It could be a virus I suppose, everyone around seems to have been sick lately and his poos were really watery a couple of weeks back... but then he stopped going every nappy change so I assumed it was his body just developing
thanks angela, he's poos have definately undergone a transformation lately, I can't say I'm looking forward to solids if they are suppose to be worse than bf poops :O
