I was hoping that a fitness instructor could help me out (CQ, Leesa?) I was wondering at what point should I tell my instructor that I am pg.
At the moment due to various reasons I am mainly doing pilates at the gym with the occasional pump class.
Plus I have friends at the gym, so I don't really want the instructor looking at me while giving the "pg" instructions as it won't take long for my friends to click! And we aren't tell people till 15 weeks prob.
As an instructor it is something I would be wanting to know straight away. I'm 16 wks now and haven't had to change the way I do Body Pump. At the 16 wk mark is generally when pg women are told to stay off their backs - so during the chest track the bench would need to have an incline so you're at more of an angle upwards. And the way you do ab's would also need to be adjusted, but as I said there is no cause for concern until you hit the 15 /16 wk mark.
As for Pilates, you may find alteration to some of the moves may need to occur once the belly starts to show.
The instructor would be wanting to make sure you don't get dizzy, faint and generally feel ok. So out of courtesy to enable them to make sure you're ok during their class, let them know and get them to tell you beforehand should there be any necessary routine changes (once again, this should only be an issue in Pilates when you start to show).
Woohoo congrats!
And just tell the instructor that you dont' want people to know and then she can just say "pregnant option is..." without looking at you specifically
I didn't want to feel like a silly billy telling them at 6 weeks if they didn't want/need to know.
I showed quite late last time (and I think I will again this time) but good to know what to do when that time comes.
Last time I stopped all exercise due to horrid morning sickness, but this time I am determined to stay with it and hoping to lose 6kg over the course of the pg and get a water birth.
