So not sure what is going on here but when doing some "maintenance" down below last night I noticed a lump which sits roughly 1cm from where my undies sit, just on the inside of my thigh and it seems to be almost on the bone. If that is making any sense?
I would say it is roughly 1cm by 1.5cm. I can move it and it doesn't feel rock hard. I tried waking DH up to feel it but he was out cold and gone by 5.30am this morning. I asked Dr Google and a lot of people said it is usually nothing to worry about and sometimes they can flare up and go back down.
I have never noticed anything like this before. So really just wondering if anyone has had something like this before and what it was?!
It could be a Bartholins cyst? Have a google and see if that's what you think it is. They usually do resolve themselves if that's what it is. I had one once and it got to quite a large size and if it got worse I would need to have it surgically drained, but by the time I went to the Dr, it was already going down.
It's the job of the lymph nodes to swell up...they are the "glands" in your neck that the drs feel for when working out whether you have an infection. They also collect lymph fluid and help it drain out of the body, so sometimes they are more full (and squidgy) than other times. There are large collections of nodes in your neck, armpits and groin. It's only a problem if they stay swollen over a couple of weeks, in which case they need to be investigated, to rule out chronic infection as well as nastier things like lymphoma.
ETA - I read this as being in your groinal area, but I agree with Trill's advice re bartholins cyst - they are pretty common too.
