    Child care benifit

Grr, I've only just started kids in family day care and actually didn't know that you had to have a form signed by a gp if you have chosen not to immunise in order to claim ccb.

Just got back from out local gp and she wouldn't sign the form! Just annoyed me so much, when did we lose the right to parent our children the way we personally feel is best.

Just a vent really... Unless you know any doctors in Melbourne who will respect my choice.

Looks like I'm just going to have to try and try until I find one.

The doctor doesn't actually have a right I don't think to NOT sign the form. They are not signing that they approve of your decision, but rather that they informed you about why you *should* vaccinate.

There are doctors in Melb that will do this. Peter Lucas is the most well known.

the doc cant legally not sign it.
they are only saying you have been informed, and YOU have made a decision to not immunise and know that you must exclude your child if an outbreak occurs etc.

I would write a 'complaint' as well as she has misinformed you and made you feel belittled by your choices. Stick it to 'em.
Make sure you do it ASAP as you can't backclaim for CCB that is cut off for immunisation. And yes informed consent forms are required and you may need to provide that to you care provider as well, as you obviosuly wont have complete immunisation hsitory to provide. IYKWIM
