    Bleeding at 30 weeks *TMI*

Can you tell me if it's normal to have a couple of random bleeds at this stage of the pg? Last night and today have just had a couple of clot type things pass when going to the toilet, old blood, not new.

Everything is pretty normal besides that, getting very very sore and heavy feeling down there but I guess that's pretty normal getting further into the home stretch? I never had any bleeding with DD so was just taken by surprise a bit. DH is away so def not from DTD.

I'm reluctant to phone the MW if it's nothing, I don't want them to kick me out of the low-risk MW program i'm in.

I was told to get any bleeding in the third trimester checked out so a phone call wouldn't hurt.

I don't think it is 'normal'. I had the same happen to me at 30 weeks also, old brown looking blood and clots. Then at 32 weeks I had a bright red bleed and I ended up having my baby at 34+4. Phone your midwife because although I believe that you and bub are ok I really do think they need to know about this. Not saying you will have your bub early or anything, part reason for DS's early birth was because my bleeding didn't stop and my placenta was low.... and it was my decision (from Ob's advice) so am sure you will make the best decision for your own situation also. In my opinion you can't be too careful, good luck and yes you are on the home stretch now, yay!

I would definitely be calling the midwives to be on the safe side.

Call the midwives and get checked out just to be on the safe side. If it turns out to be nothing, it won't change your status as a low risk pregnancy.

    Good luck

It sounds like you may have lost a little of your plug. This does not mean labour is necessarily imminent, but at your gestation any bleeding should be checked out. Your midwife will not think it's nothing even if it turns out to be nothing harmful to your pregnancy.

Thanks for your replies.... you're all making way too much sense and I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

Will call them as soon as DD gives me a chance to and see what they say.

I didn't get a chance before antenatal closed for the day, and I feel a bit silly calling birth suite which is where they direct their after hours calls to, i'm sure they're busy enough in there!

I'll take it easy tonight and see how I go, otherwise i'll give them a quick call in the morning.

Just popping in to see if there was any new posts so hoping no new posts means you haven't had any more bleeding. Take care of yourself, am sure you are anyway
