    Gender excitment!

    Hi Ladies,

Such a dreary day today in Sydney! So for those who finally got the gender they wanted for bub, can you share some positive stories?

Ie, did you jump up and down? cry? how did it happen? what was your partners reaction?

When I was pregnant with my 3rd I thought for sure it was going to be another boy. Everything felt the same, I just felt sicker, but put it down to just being third preg, as my 2nd was worse then the 1st also (and 4th was worst then third & 5th was worse then 4th LOL) So when we go in, Say I want to kow BUT don't tell me just show me, so I can see if I can pick it. Bub had legs crossed... Typical I thought.. But she went back later & announced its a girl. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much I was so shocked. I was over the moon!

Kinda hoping I have the same reaction this time, was told at a guess boy at 13 weeks but would love if it is a girl

Oh when it was announced that DS was a boy, you couldn't wipe the grin off my face! We were broke, but went straight to Big W & spent $60 on blue stuff
MIL didn't want to know. She wanted it to be a suprise, & we had no intention of ruining that for her, but the second she looked at DH after the u/s she knew lol. He didn't have to say a word.
Its so much fun having a motorbike obsessed boy too. We grew up with bikes & having 2 girls that'd crap themselves til you forced them on the bike was so frusterating. (They loved it once they were on!) DS begs to go for rides. He'll just sit for hours & watch bike racing on TV. Its so neat!
Anyway... can you tell I love having a boy??

I didn't find out what I'm having, so I can't wait for the excitement after I give birth and they tell me what it is!!!!

this pregnancy we hoped as hard as we could for a little boy after two girls!
20 week scan, one said boy, the other said no obvious genitals, prepare for a girl!
So i went and paid for a 4d scan and low and behold we are baking our precious little boy! i instantly burst into happy tears

We didn't worry about gender with the first 3 and were happy to take whatever we got LOL, but with #4, we really wanted to even things up so we gender swayed for a boy and I was so worried that it wouldn't work out and that we'd have another girl, not that it mattered that much, but still, it would have been nice to have another boy kwim? So even though DH didn't want to know what we were having at the scan, I still asked because I was there on my own anyway. When he said he was 80% sure it was a boy, I felt like I was floating on air and I had this feeling of serenity. I even managed to sneakily buy 2 blue outfits later that day and hid them from DH. But I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment, so I tried not to focus on it too much. But when he was born and he was definitely a he, I was beyond ecstatic! DH was overjoyed and even now he's 3, I look at him every day and still can't believe that we got another boy.

One of my most memorable moments as a midwife was the most gorgeous woman I was caring for finidng out what her baby was after birth. She had been ttc for 5years (several losses in that time) and had a 7yr old son. Once bub was born (know one told her what it was) and when she looked she started screaming its a boy its a boy, lots of happy tears. I gentle told her to look again and when she realised bub was actually a girl it was just so amazing to watch. She was crying so much and shaking I don't know how her little slippery bub didn't slip right out of her hands or she fall of the bed for that matter. Words can't do justice the emotion in the room at that moment. There were no dry eyes from any of us thats for sure. Such a shame it wasn't caught on camera.

    Thanks so much ladies!
My heart is just filled with happiness after hearing the stories.

I often imagine for those mega lucky parents (as parents are lucky to have healthy happy babies already) and who wished for a gender and got it, how much emotions they must have felt!!!

One brings to mind All-Boys (Fejoa's Mum now) how we were all rooting for her after 3 boys to finally have Pepper!! I could instantly feel that excitement so I cannot imagine how she felt!!!! LOLLL
