cats meet dog, ADVICE

Hi all im getting my puppy tomorrow and was just wondering the best way to introduce him to my cats they are about 10 months old and actually very loving and cuddly, they are always grooming each other and going to sleep cuddling each other, i just wanted some advice so i dont stuff it up and make them dislike the puppy, he is only a ****zu x so not very big prob 1/3 there size atm

I've always had a rule, when I introduce new animals into my house, that I ignore them for the first week or so if my other animals want attention. So if my cats are in, I ignored Tilly if they wanted to sit on my lap. And then they didn't get jealous of the new arrival. When actually introducing them, I tend to keep the dog on a lead, and make sure the cats have their nails clipped to remove the sharp tips - that way they can still hit the dog, but not draw blood.

thanks for the reply kazbah i only just checked it ooops, well the meet went well he just lyed in his bed while they had a sniff then i put some dog biscuits all over the floor so they would eat and kept getting closer after 10 minutes mango and milo were eating out of the same bowl but miss monkey will take some time but she did with people too, and no claws or bad vibes so all is looking good, bit of behind sniffing and all lol
