    Velour wipes?

Hi, I'm wanting to make some nice wipes and am wondering if anyone has cotton velour or bamboo velour ones? Are they a good fabric to make wipes out of and do they dry quickly?

I have some of each. They don't dry that quickly, but they're soooooooooo lovely to touch and feel.

ohhhh now I don't know which to get, do they feel basically the same? Could you also use them as a prefold? I guess the perfect size for a wipe is much smaller than what a prefold would be but it'd be nice to be able to use them for either... like if I run out of other prefolds (ummmm ok so that's not likely) lol

some of each, cotton dries quicker.
not sure abt the prefold idea, never used them personally.
bump is growing nicely. he has a heart defect that will need fixing once he's born, but other than that all good.

You couldn't really use them for prefolds, I don't think, because they'r a little too small. You *could* probably use them for pocket stuffers, though, if you were desperate?
Both velours are a lovely fabric for breast pads, too, while you're at it! Cotton will dry faster because it's less absorbent. Bamboo feels divine though, so so so so lovely.

Thanks girls, do either of you know what GSM the BBH's bamboo boosters are? I've come across 2 bamboo fleece's one is 280 and the other 400. Obviously the 400GSM would be the thickest/most absorbent. I guess I'll want to make the prefolds at least as thick as the BBH's boosters so I don't know how much fabric to purchase without knowing how thick it will be when it arrives. Am I making sense?

Skybie hon I hope everything is ok with bubs. You must be worried like crazy. You know you have all the BB girls for support though. I"ll be thinking of you xo

The BBH stuff isn't that thick, it's just sandwiched together. That's only what I know from pulling some BBH stuff apart.

Also, bamboo shrinks a little when you wash it.

hmmm so maybe it's 2 layers of the thinner 280gms put together. I've found some that is 430GMS and prewashed so maybe one layer of that would be think enough and I can then fold it either in half or thirds to make a prefold. Thanks for your PM too
