Havent bought one yet so dont have a big recommendation of good or bad as yet, but after a little research a few months ago the Safe & Sound Compact car seat seems to be pretty good and also size wise. We're looking at getting one for bubs.
just wondering what people think is the best skinny car seat

we have been using a safe and sound compac since DD1 was born because we had an astra at the time but now DD2 is in it, DD1 is in a maxi rider and DS(big boy) still fits between the seats(we now have a 4x4) so I think its great![]()
when I was looking for skinny carseats I got warned they are a fair bit longer than others. Just something to consider, always better to try them in your car first if you can.![]()
I have a SnS compaq delux and its great, I have just got a Maxi AHR for Dd when she is a bit bigger and the compaq is not longer. The recommendation is always to try in your car before you buy anyway but the SnS compaq seems to only be narrower not longer ... JMO.

Looked it up and the compaq is 45mm longer than the other safe n sound car seats. not a lot but it may be too big for some smaller cars. As everyone and myself said, best to try it you can![]()
well there you go an extra 45mm
I think the main benefit is the Base is a bit narrower and the sides too. It fit in my Lancer coupe just fine on the passenger back, fits my hubbies, nissan pulsar in the same possie and also fits my new Cruze.
I will say the downside to a small car is the car seats didn't fit exceptionally well in the middle , we tried it with all three cars and the fitting station suggested it would be better on the side so ours sits happily behind the passenger front.
From what I know about these seats in particular is that they are designed to fit the smaller cars, dunno how well they'd go in a mini or something like that though??!!
We have a jeep wrangler and the sns compaq was the only one that fitted in the reverse postion. In that position it is 10cm smaller than the others
the safe and sound website definitely has the compaq as being 45mm longer in rearward facing. I just remembered it because it was too long for my mazda 2![]()
