    "I'm hungry"

If I hear it again I'll scream....DD is 4.5 and she's always saying she's hungry but I really can't tell if its just all talk.

She eats a lot and pretty healthy, lots of raw veg through out the day plus breakfast and lunch and then dinner.

She's not under weight, she's a little chubby very much like DS was until he started school and now he's a rake.

I feel like I'm starving her but then I feel like she's must be eating too much, oh it's doing my head in!

How do I know she's getting too much/ too little?

I'm having the same trouble with my DD2 (nearly 4). As soon as her eyes open the first words out of her mouth are "I want food". I'm going to worm her and see if that makes a difference but I don't think it will. I just make sure that I have healthy food (like you) and give her that. She does seem to want sandwiches though.

Has she been wormed? sometimes over hungriness (word of the day lol) can be a sign of worms.. My Ds is the same though. always asking for blooming food.. DD is even worse.. Eats all day long then won't eat dinner..

I just tell them that if they are hungry go eat sme fruit and have some water.. they seem to forget they are hungry when I won't let them have a "treat"

I've tried distracting her with painting, drawing, playing etc but after 5mins she's asking about food again.

Maybe at main meal times offer her larger portions n see how she goes.. I do that wit ds sometimes he polishes it off n other times he only eats half but it can make bait of a difference n their activeness plays a big role in their appetite too my ds is bouncing off walls during the day lol so I know he burns it quickly n his metabolism is very fast also

I find my 8 year old's interest in food varies depending on whether she's growing - she'll go through stages of picking at her dinner and mucking around, but when she's about to have another growth spurt she is *forever* hungry.

So long as you're keeping it healthy (which from the sounds of things you are) she'll be fine

Add some lean protein to whatever snacks you give them. Trust me, this helps.

My DD is always "hungry" too - but only for ice cream and cupcakes, never for dinner
