Maybe try baby shops just to check if they have white outfits for you or e-bay?
I remember when my DD's got christened the other kids there just wore nice simple outfits, not always white, did you specifically want the white?

Don't know if this is what you want, but ebay has some reasonably nice simple white rompers?

I wanted something a bit different and ordered DD gown through an American company called Baby Beau and Belle. Their website is christeninggowns dot com from memory. The the Aussie dollar so good it would be worth looking at their stuff, they have a huge range from traditional to heirloom stuff as well as some lovely simple stuff, I hope I have a boy next time coz i have my eye on something

Loula, I just had my daughter christened over the weekend, and she did wear the long traditional gown, but was changed into a cute little dress I found in Kmart for her morning tea party afterwards. I paid $15!! I agree with the other girls, have a look around everywhere. The little boys who were christened in the same morning service had adorable little suits on, or sweet camel coloured trousers and a white shirt! They looked so handsome
    Good luck
