    Question Hayfever in toddlers??

    Hi,

Just wondering can babies or toddlers get hayfever, or symptoms of it??

My son whom is 13 months rubs his eyes and nose and becomes very frustrated, sometimes agitated and teary. My husband suffers from hayfever terrribly. My son has also developed Eczema which I took him to the Drs for and have prescribed Sigmacort twice daily, and bath only in QV wash.

Is the nose and eye rubbing a reaction to his eczema? Is he generally itchy and doesn't kmow where to scratch? Wondering does anyone have any info The eczema is mild now we are using QV wash and Sigmacort, it flares up a little when hes too hot.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

The poor little guy. They sure can get it, my DD & DS both suffer from Eczema and Hayfever.
I have both and DH has asthma so my poor kids had no hope. I would say that him rubbing his eyes and nose will be the itch from the hayfever. Sounds like it is really frustrating the poor little thing. You can buy kids Claratyne which you can give to kids 1 yr +. Maybe speak to your Pharmacist about it because it sounds like he would benefit from it. It really eases my kids symptoms.

As for the eczema have you looked into foods that may be contributing? Some foods like milk and cheese can cause it to flare up. So might be worth looking into it and maybe limiting some of those types of products during the warmer weather.

    Good luck!
