we survived our first night without the dummy!

I just wanted to share that I am so proud of my DS, last night we had first night without the dummy! it was tough i admit and i was so proud of all of us because we were all so anxious! I was scared that i wouldn't cope if he became too distressed, DH was worried about DS and about me not coping and obviously DS just wanted his dummy. We had about 40 minutes of tears but finally at 11.30pm he fell asleep. he woke at 6.30 and asked for it and we reminded him that he had given it to the dummy fairy and he got up excitedly to play with his new race track (from dummy fairy).
he's been so brave today, he asked for it a few times and but has coped with the reminder that the dummy fairy has it. He had a HUGE arvo nap I think due to going to sleep so late last night but we survived our first day.
Fingers crossed tonight will be okay.

Yayyy!! I know how stressful and aniety inducing it can be to get rid of dummies. I had two kids with them to get rid of and it was sooo not even half as bad for anyone as I thought it might be!! I hope your little man continues to be brave and cope without them!
