camera that takes quick pics..without the lag

hello, im not really camera savvy, but im looking for a camera that doesnt have the lag so i dont have to wait between taking shots..id like to take lots of quick shots in a row...ive missed lots of great baby shots waiting for the camera!!!

does it have to be a DSLR or are there other cameras that can do this? im looking at the Canon 1000D at this stage....

We are looking at the 500D and the 60D at the moment, I think most of your small digital cameras have that lag.

Yeah, you'll need an SLR. So much better for getting baby shots without the lag!!

We have the 550D & it takes the picture straight away. I love it (when I can wrangle it off DF)
