I have a confession to make.....

I am almost completely grey... At 26.

since I was 15 I have had grey hair in thick streaks.
maybe there is a condition for this ( need to google lol) but I'm wondering

Ladies help... what is the best hair colour to cover grey, for as long as possible?

I have used permanent dye for many years and now it washes out it two weeks or something, Im always grey..... It makes me look and feel a lot older than I am .....

my son is blonde so I would try streaks , or any suggestions
I'm currently dark brown... And grey

Not to worry hun, DH's "father" was grey by his mid twenties and same with another person I know.

Have u tried a proper "all grey" coverage?

Maybe a good trim will help? I know when I used to dye my hair alot (my natural hair looks almost grey so I don't like it lol) that use to happen (it'd wash out quick, even tho it was a permanent) and it was apparently because my hair was so overloaded with chemicals from the dye it wouldn't stick well enough...

Maybe try going a lighter colour? Like light brown/blonde, etc that way even if it does wash out quicker it's not AS noticeable iykwim?

Maybe try like a tobacco brown (or even darker colour) with lots of blonde foils if u don't think ull suit a full blonde?

Maybe try a diff brand of hair dye if u don't already? I used to change em around abit so I dont know if that helps?

Hope I helped Hun at least u aren't going bald so have plenty of hair to play with! Lol

Why not go to a hairdresser and get it done? They'll know the best way to hide grey - and you can always use that brand at home if you don't want to be at the hairdressers so much.

I'm also very grey and have been since my early 20's (I'm now 32) I found since I've had my DS my hair is more resistant to the dye and doesn't cover as well or last as long and I go to the hairdresser.

I have, however, recently changed hairdressers and whatever product they use is much better and I have much better results.

I think blonde or blonde streaks cover grey better, regrowth isn't so obvious

You'll need to use a real tint not a supermarket one. If you have any hairdressing supply places near you you'll be able to buy it there & do it yourself. Most staff in them are friendly & will answer questions for you. Just make sure you follow the mixing instructions (In most cases it works out cheaper than supermarket colour anyway)

It's so nice to know I'm not the only one with lots of grey hair!! I go to the hairdresser too, and love my hairdresser she does a great job. My brother has been fully grey since he was about 24... and he just leaves it, and gets away with it - thinks he is a silver fox
