I have noticed with the recent hot weather (a few days at 33C) that DS's nappies are not as full as usual. Sometimes they are almost dry even after a few hours which is very unusual.
He is six month and I bf his at least 9 times a day so am wondering if it is just because his body is using the water and excreting via sweat rather than urine or if I should be concerned.
He has just started solids so not sure if this makes a difference...he is not constipated, pooing out what he takes in in almost the same form (mashed carrots & pumpkin so far!).
Hey Renee_AW, you have answered your own question with yes that in the hot weather we do rather sweat more than wee but thats also why offering more drinks BF FF and /or water is so important as you dont wnt his to become really dehydrated. I would say if he has a couple of really wet nappies from when he wakes to bedtime that is ok . Remember what yoourself is like when talking hot weather and toilet trips.... however as babys' can dehydrate very quickly if you r in doubt ring your local ED and they will give you advise . also they hve advice to keep baby cool as well if you ever need that .
You should introduce cooled, boiled water with solids too if you haven't done so already. He won't be drinking as much milk so needs to get his fluids elsewhere. It does all sound very normal though with the warmer weather.
