    Question Possible UTI infection

I was just reading on another thread about some symptoms of UTI- and my son was having similar symptoms but i was wondering if anyone could give me more info...

The things that got me thinking was a general low grade fever without runny nose or cough and very smelly wee- he is 2 and i have definatly noticed the smelly wee, but didnt really think much of it.. he doesnt seem to have any pain when he wee's- we are doing TT so i actually watch him wee and he definately doesnt show any sign of pain- his willy isnt red or anything, but should i maybe still take him to the dr? The fever comes and goes, but it has been coming and going for about two weeks now..

    Any advice?

I would take him to the Dr and mention the smelly wee. My DS had one at about 6 mths old, his fever spiked up to 40 and we took him to hospital because he was so little and they were about to let us go home because they thought it was just a fever, but then checked his wee. If you are TT'ing him it will be a bit easier to "catch" one - we had to use a plastic bag to catch J's and he had to stay in hospital for 2 days on IV antibiotics because he was so young, but at an older age, a normal course of AB's should clear it up. I don't think there is any redness that you can see and they may not have any soreness when doing wee or any other symptoms other than the fever.

    Good luck hun xoxox

Yes, I think I would. I don't think it would hurt to send of a urine specimen to test for germs.
