    Refusing EBM

I have an 8 week old baby and up until the 5 week mark she was happily taking EBM from madela teats. Now she refuses to take the bottle - spits it out. We have tried feeding her at different hunger levels, when she is 90% asleep, in different positions, with DH and with me feeding her. Nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have any further suggestions? Is there a better shaped teat we could try? I also wonder whether maybe she will just grow out of being fussy...perhaps she is just too young?

    Thanks!

Note - she gets breast fed. I just want her to be able to take the bottle for my freedom and when I go back to work in a few months time

mmm tricky one i would just pursorviour (sp) try new teats. I know with my nearly 4 weeker if he doesnt want to feed at that minute he spits the nipple (just wont attach ) or spits the bottle teat out and wont suck So it could be as easy as NO mum/dad im not damn hungry lol stop forcing milk into me lol ...

If you're not going back to work for a few months, maybe just worry about it then.
You'll find these things just tend to work themselves out.

I wouldn't bother pushing it until you're going back to work. Also, if it isn't for a few months there's probably no need for a bottle at all. She might happily accept a sippy cup of EBM instead! There are other Mums on here whose bf bubs never took a bottle and still managed to keep having ebm when Mum went back to work.

Thanks guys. I will leave it for a few months and try again. Hopefully with more success!
