    Avent steamer for baby food??

I've seen this at target and was thinking about getting one for when I start making food for DS. (not for a while yet!)

Or what else could you suggest I get as we dont really have any appliances other than a bar mix lol

I just steamed on stove or in microwave in normal micro bowl

I would use barmix/stick mixer to mush up or sometimes blender.

They can suck you into so many unncesesary gadgets.

I wouldn't bother hun. A normal saucepan will work fine. And for DS2 I haven't needed to Bamix, he is quite happy to eat his food mashed . Wait and see how he goes for texture, but I can pretty much guarantee that you don't need to buy a special steamer. Unless you really want to

Man, it will come around so quickly!!!

Or you can do what I do - Lazy Parenting 101. Baby led solids rather than spoon feeding puree / mashed food. Then you don't need to anything different

I started by steaming in microwave or normal steamer and mashing with a fork (so it was still really lumpy) and then went onto baby led solids. P never had purees.

Lol Michelle! We very much do a combo - particularly on those days when DS2 refuses to eat from a spoon (both of my boys have done that). BLS is great

I agree with not bothering, i just used the steamer that came with my saucepans and then mashed them with a fork or bar mix.
