DD is going through hell with her teeth at the moment.
Two fangs up the top have just broken the skin and I suspect we have more on the way. The last 5 nights she has barely slept and has developed this really horrible cough ... which is the main reason she has barely slept.
We tried neurofen (sp?) but that seemed to make the nights worse so have reverted back to panadol.
I took her in for her 1 yr shots and they sent us home as she had a low fever, while we were there a Dr gave her a quick check and fortunately no chest infection.
Poor little bugger just cannot get a good rest and neither do we. Night before last, as a last resort I put the heater on in our room and brought her into bed with me and she maganed to settle. LAST night I had her in bed with me the WHOLE night and she stirred every 3-4 hours so I just flopped out boob and she sucked back to sleep. She didn't cough much but today one side is really sore from being a dummy.
ANyway I got side tracked ........
We have been giving her a nightly dose only of panadol for close to 2 weeks now but she is needing it through the day as well .....
I am worried this will be doing her damage AND I have no idea how much longer she will be teething. She has JUST started with the green snot again today so this is usually a sign of yet ANOTHER tooth.
We are all so tired and the poor little one cannot get a decent rest unless its next to mummy but I cannot do this through the day.
Any advice/ideas about the panadol thing?
Oh yeah we have tried an amber bracelet and that did squat
panadol shouldn't really be given longer than 24-48 hours without medical attention.
If you're struggling to get through the night, try giving panadol and neurofen TOGETHER. You will get a longer and better pain relief and it is safe to do so.
No he didn't even look in her ears, I am going to try really hard to get an appointment for her tomorrow but its nearly impossible to get in to see our family Dr, you need to make an appointment WEEKS ahead and I really don't want her to see "just anyone"
Aside from her ears I am going to suggest they look up her nose and see if they can test for a UTI as well ... just to cover all bases.
I managed to get in her mouth before and it looks to me like there are 3 blistery things so could well be 5 or 6 teeth at once.
Try the bonjella and give the teething rings a go. The bonjella will give some relief and the ice will soothe the inflamed gums. Better than panadol all the time
