I normally cook pork for 30mins per 500g, plus another 30 minutes. So 1kg will be cooked for an hour and a half.
I would add par boiled potatoes in for the last half 45 minutes, and they will go nice and crispy in the pork fat.
so were having roast pork for tea and on taste is says to cook 20 mins for every 500g, it doesnt sound long enough... is it???
and if we had potatos can i add them around the same time (im out so hubby is in charge so the easier the better)

Hmmm, for a 1.5kg I ususlly have it in the oven for 2 hours. And yes i put the potatos seasoning etc in at the same time
Or I put it in the slow cooker for 6-8 - OMG yummmmmmmmmm *drools*
*drools* Can I come for dinner???? Pleaseeeee?![]()
Olive, I usually put it 30 min per 500g plus an extra 30 min. The First 30 min is at 200 then the remainder of time at 180. I usually give my spuds an hour at 180 depending on how big I cut them.
I also pat the crackling dry with paper towel and then rub with vinegar and salt before putting it in the oven.
