Unhappy Pain filled day after sex

    I'm having a little problem....

A bit of history for me - have been suffering from SPD since early on in the second trimester, nothing unusual for me, just something I have to deal with. Some days it's ok, and others it feels like my pelvis is going to break apart.

Anyway I have noticed that whenever DH and I have sex, for the remainder of the day my SPD (in particular pain from the sciatic nerve) is quite bad. If we have sex in the morning, the pain will last ALL day . Standing for any period of time is painful and the pain runs down the back of both my legs from my lower back to just below my knees.

I don't know what to do. It's not something that I want to bring up with DH (sex isn't something that we are getting around to alot anyway with a very active 2 year old), but it is something that is holding me back from getting close to DH. What can I do to stop this pain or at least make the pain less?

oh I feel your pain I get that when pregnant and have the same deal with DTD. I use to try doing other itimate things instead as it got to the point that I just was in to much pain. Dh understood after we talked about it. Hope it eases up for you. Have you tried the spooning possies they seemed the ones that put the least preasure on the hips/back. Gave the least pain after

Hi PinkLilly, I also suffer from SPD and being my second pregnancy it is much more worse this time! As you said some days it's not too bad, then some days I feel i'm going to break my pelvis if I move my hips... I have had the same thing with the sex part also, I'm only 2 and a half weeks off my due date now, though I haven't been able to have sex with my partner for a good 2 months! Unfortunately, I don't think that there is much to do that can stop the pain but I agree with Aligater though if you are going to have sex try the spooning position, maybe on your side as you don't have to widen the hips that way...
I personally just stick to other forms of intimacy to be close with one another. I'm sure your Hubby understands that it's frustrating you, but if it's causing you pain then it will probably make the last month on your pelvis hell.. I'm feeling it bad now! Good Luck with everything : )

    thanks for the responses ladies.

Re the position - we generally only to the spooning so I'm not sure what else I can try. Its getting a little frustrating (probably more so for DH as my sex drive has taken a huge dive which is prob because I know it's going to hurt for a while afterward).
