We stayed at the Naviti.. its one of the big family resorts.. there are a lot of mixed reviews about it, but my mum had been twice already!!!
It was amazing.. all inclusive with the price, we got gold wrist bands and had free range.. so no kids saying they are hungry ot thirsty, they just help themselves or hit the bar thermselves!!
We certainly didnt get bored, and the little kids cried when we left!!
We found the "bad" reveiws were folks not expecting it to be a "kids" place... they are everywhere, but we loved it.. all the kids found friends. We had no crying or sooking, just heaps of fun.. the pool is HUGE, with a swim up bar.. and we all loved the food, and not one of us, (9 A and 7 K) got sick!!
Within hours most staff knew all our names including the kids. They run to get highchairs and help you out. The little kids got cuddles all the time and so so spoilt!!
We stayed at the Warwick last year, sister resort just up the road from there. Not heaps of kids, but the food was fantastic. Was the food good at the Naviti? Is there a beach as such or is it pretty dirty? (looking for our next holiday destination. )
Its just 5 min back from the Warick.. we got vouchers for the Warick, so a few us went up there and had a meal.. I didnt, stayed with the kids.
Beach was nice, not really fine sand, more gritty? But the kids loved it.. took out canoes and paddles boats, and its really shallow for ages too, so pretty safe.
Food was awesome.
Breaky buffet downstairs... just normal foods, but heaps of variety.
Lunch buffet or menu order (all included!) normal lunch foods, ...menu had hamburgers, melts ets.. gorgeous!
Dinner buffet downstairs, normal foods, buffet upstairs was themed every night eg italian, mexican... so yummy.
Plus a chinese restaurant too.. set menu for all inclusives, but if you order something else, its 25% with your bracelet. We had inclusive menu 2 nights, its just amazing....
never pulling out money was just heaven... we made our money with just the kids drinks I'm sure!! A basic dinner is normally $45... so with all inclusive we saved a PACKET between 8 of us!!
yep, took everyone!!
You can pay a Fijian sitter if you have any under 5, its about $3.50 an hour, but when we took the littlies they didnt stay for too long so we stayed with them!
They send out a letter each night of whats on in Kids Club the next day, so we would look it up, go "yep, face paitning and coconut bowling, we'll do those with them", then just take them for that.
For everything else they stayed with us doing other stuff... so we didnt really use it too much.. it IS good for wearing them out beofre bed in the playroom though...
You can get a sitter in your room of a night too, but we just got the big kids to stay in after 10pm, and we went up to the entertainment and bar...
eta.. I havent found many kids clubs that take them before 4-5 either.. I'm seraching for a holiday for next year, and most dont. But to be honest we were happy to go for an hour with the kids, then take them with us to do something else.....
A few fijian ones cater for 2-5 year olds. Special toddler activities. The Shanglrila is one in Fiji that i know does. Castaway Island is from 3. I think Mana island is from 2, as well as a child care centre, but we've been there and the food was terrible!
Yeah i'm happy to have the girls with us if they want to, but if my eldest asks me one more time when she can start school i might go mad! She's only 3. I think she'd love it.
The fijian babysitters are the LOVLIEST ladies.. we talked to a lot of them while our kids played.....the kids come up for cuddles and to play with them all the time!!
Castaway is very "couply" so kids club is used to keep them "outta the way"... (my ex honeymooned there) and hardly seen kids at all... its not too kid friendly unless thats changed in 3-4 yrs...
We couldnt afford the bill at the Shangrila if we had to feed/drink all of us...
Check how you get out to some of the islands resorts too.. some of the boats are pretty shabby if your carting a few kids!! We took the kids on the boat, but wouldnt wanna be going out too far LOL
A lot of them kinda imply it if you look closely... if it goes and on about weddings and honeymoons, and is a smaller resort, its probably not too kid friendly.. my mum goes over heaps and says a lot aren't really suitable, but they wont come out and say it
