    Bringing on this baby!!

well im now a week overdue.. trying all sorts such as walking twice a day, DTD most nights.. still nothing, the most i get after being really active are a few strong Braxtons but thats it.. really trying to bring him on before thursday as i know they will induce me if nothing happens and i want things to start naturally.. im about to go for my second walk for the day but interested to know if there are any other ways that have actually worked for some.. im getting really impatient and want to meet this bubba now!! lol

Here's a few things that I have heard from websites and my midwife has confirmed that these few suggestions are meant to help with labour naturally, so there is no harm in trying... Apparently fresh pineapple helps to produce oxytocin naturally so that would help bring on labour, but it would have to be taken in large amounts so you would need to eat up!! Sex, the males sperm contains an ingredient to soften the cervix, and female orgasm also produces oxytocin so that could bring on the contractions. Hot and spicy food such as a curry is one of the most commonly suggested by midwifes, which stimulates the bowel and sometimes has a knock-on affect with the uterus as they have similar muscles...
I've heard walking up and down stairs, and also walking up and down stairs sideways (if you're game enough And relaxation, try a warm bath with soft music maybe??
That's all I can think of at the moment, but hopefully bub will make an appearance for you soon!
Good luck and all the best with the labour and birth of your baby : )

Eza- I'm 8 days over now and nothing has worked for me. I'm also looking at being induced on Wednesday so have tried everything I can think of and have been told about 10 times a day. Here's what I've tried, maybe something will work for you.

Curry, chilli, pineapple, sex, nipple stimulation, walking, bouncing on an excercise ball, four wheel driving, getting down on all fours and shaking your booty, shaking your booty whilst folding washing, scrubbing floors and crawling around, evening primrose oil, raspberry leaf tea, 3 x stretch and sweep... I think that's all of it.

Like I said nothing has worked for me, but I am having contractions its just she won't drop down into the pelvis and stay there, she wants to bob up and down all day...

Good luck, looking forward to hearing your BA!

I hear ya! And I'm not even overdue yet!

By coincidence, a friend had a curry night last night, I hit up all the hottest stuff I could find, and then I piled on all the hottest condiments available. I got heartburn from hell, and my trips to the toilet have been roughly equivalent to Satan himself sliding through my rectal passage.... but no baby!

Hope it comes for you so you can beat that induction! Good luck!

audax.. how funny!! not too keen on the hot spicy foods!! and too much pineapple has the same effect dont want to go pooping all over the m/w if it does happen to work!! My sis had an embarrasing episode with her birth after she drank castor oil. They say you dont care at the time.. but she was mortified!!

i am interested in the accupressure thing tho.. just found a couple of vids online with some good reviews so might give that a go..
sucks that nothing is working for you ella!! hope we both get some action soon!!

    thanks ladies

Tablets from chemist or health food shop. But only take them if you do not have any underlying health problems
