So I have a pram, but I'm so sick of lugging hat big heavy thing out of the car when I'm only going to use it for a few minutes.
I've seen some real tiny little strollers around, they look so light and easy to pack up.
I have no idea which brands though, or which shop would sell them.
Any ideas?
TIA.
Oh, hope you don't mind me subscribing to this thread - our pram broke the other day and we have been thinking of getting an umbrella stroller for a while.

We have the Quicksmart Easy Fold Stroller. And it really is easy to fold and unfold, and so compact. It fits in the footwell of the front seat of my car! It also has 3 recline positions so if u do decide to stay out a bit longer, bubs can have a bit of a lay down and snooze. Comes with its own carry bag, so great for travel, also has storm cover. It's very light, I can hold with one hand. All baby shops sell them, Baby Bunting, Toys r Us etc. I know they were on sale last week for about $150, and they might still be.
Otherwise, I know you can get the no frills type at Kmart and Big W for quite cheap. Not sure of the brands though.
We bought a Baby Love Adventurer stroller to use on holidays and I don't think we've used our big pram since. It was about $160 so not cheap but I actually find it's more padded than our Steelcraft pram and Moo is very happy in there! It has a nice sized basket, a big pocket for all your bits and pieces at the back, it has adjustable leg rests, you can take the canopy off, came with a storm cover, folds really easily and is quite lightweight. The back rest is also adjustable but I can't remember if it has 2 or 3 positions.
ETA and my DH is very comfortable pushing the stroller. He could never push Moo in the pram as he's tall and his feet would always kick the wheels!
I have a Maclaren Techno which I love. They aren't the lightest or smallest strollers out there but they are definitely built well and to last. I've travelled with it numerous times. Some of those cheaper ones don't look much sturdier than a dolly stroller and a lot don't lay back completely which can be a pain.
Thanks girls!
Just adding another question.. in our pram, DD has a tendency to slope to the left. It drives me insane, and I think it's coz the material is slippery and it has no proper support, so I'd like a stroller with a proper back, if that makes sense.
I'm wondering if any are made like that?
I've just recently been on a stroller hunt and checked out a few, ending up getting a red babylove adventurer like cheezel described. Turtleschell Baby on a Budget have had the red ones on sale for $135 as they are discontinued. Whilst I am happy with it, my DD is a bit smaller, so the straps even as short as they can go are still too big. She tends to slump down a little, but I know she'll grown into it. Plus we only use if for in and out of shops, if it's a big day for the pram I take my P&T. It's really easy to fold up and down and doesn't take up a lot of room in the car.
Big W has a similar red one called the Holiday stroller which looks pretty good too, and for around $80 I think. I prob would have got that but they didn't have any in stock and I needed it quickly a few weeks ago - then saw 3 in there yesterday Toys R Us also have a heap of cheaper umbrella strollers, all that can lay back if bub wants a snooze. There's heaps out there - good luck!
I too just went stroller shopping & ended up with a Bebe Care Lunar. It was $130 at Bubs Baby Shops (have online shops & actual shops). It seems well built & easy to use so far (definitely much easier than the pram.). Comes with a 12mth warranty. Folds "Flat" and I have put a sheepskin liner in mine to keep DD cool and comfortable. It has a sunshade (not much though really) and shopping basket, plus a little attached pocket on the back perfect for purse, keys, phone, etc. I'm happy with mine so far. One thing you will notice, strollers don't drive like prams - they definitely feel "less", IMO anyway. Happy shopping.
Hey guys, went to Big W today after reading your posts, and was intending to buy the red Holiday one that human bean mentioned, but when I was looking, another mother saw me and told me that it was a bad choice, the canopy just falls off.
Anyway, other opinions usually don't deter me, but she was using the Zuzu one $26.80 or something, it's really tiny and compact and she said it's great and has room for everything despite the size (or lack of) and that convinced me! I figure, if i want DD to be able to sleep, I would take the pram, and for short outings, that tiny cheap lil thing will do!
The girl said when she goes grocery shopping, she just folds the stroller and stores it under the trolley. Incredible. I'm so excited to use it!
Thanks for all your ideas ladies!!
I got a cheapy stroller from Kmart for $17 & its great! So light & fuss free. DD hardly wants to be in the pram or stroller much these days anyway so not point spending big money on anything. She does love pushing her dollies around in it too
Glad you got one - I was eyeing off that one too but DD is still a bit of a sleepy head so wanted the lay back option.
Good to know about the canopy of the Holiday one, although it's the first negative feedback I've heard, lucky you two got talking! Enjoy your strolling
