What do I feed a 2.5 year old for dinner thats not well?

My DS has had a small bout of gastro or tummy bug thing today! Thrown up breakfast which was just toast with a small spread of vegemite. No butter or milk today! Then threw up his sandwhich for lunch all in the car when we ducked to the supermarket...Gross.....
All he has had is water, a lemonade icy pole and right now a salada with a small spread of pnut butter on it!
What should I make him for tea? His never been sick like this before?
I'm not sure what to put in his tummy!!!

    My boys have the same

I am giving them plain pasta, nothing on it. He could even just munch a plain salada, his appetite is probably really low.
Hope your little one improves soon, just make sure he is getting plenty of water.

Stick to the salada's and maybe a bit of fruit. No dairy whatever you give him. Hope he is better soon.

Soup. I know it is warm weather but very plain chicken soup or something similar - it has some nutrients and is liquid, so will help to keep him hydrated

Second the plain pasta. Maybe in a little bit of broth if he'll do that, to get some fluids in.
If he's happy with saladas, keep going with those, but don't fuss if he doesn't want it.

I'd steer well clear of fruit.

    Plain rice or plain pasta.
Keep a cup of water full so he can keep his liquid up.

When DS1 has gastro two weeks ago he ate the Heinz Baby Fruit Gels when he was hungry.

When unwell maybe try giving wholemeal pasta over white. It's easier to digest. Rice pasta as well isn't as heavy. I found both of those easier on my tummy when i has bad morning sickness with DD and I was less likely to bring the lot up.

Just fluids are fine until the vomiting stops, unless they want to eat. We can last a long without food and not eating can avoid more vomiting.

    Lemonade and ORS are great.
Then dry crackers are good like you did.

    Hope all is well tomorrow

My Gp suggested that we try banana, rice and yoghurt - apparently the yoghurt aids the recovery of the stomach (even tho it is dairy) and banana helps the electrolyte balance after being so ill. Hope everyone is ok.

I usually give rice cooked in stock and leave it a bit liquidy and the some jelly (or the baby fruit gels). I would also get some hydrolyte icypoles to keep in the freezer for when these things happen.

Thanks again! I have bought some hydrolyte icypoles to keep on hand if it happens again! I made a risotto for dinner the next night and he ate a little bit but I didn't force it on him!
He seems back to his old self today and yesterday was much better too. Doesn't seem to have a very big appetite atm so maybe it has knocked him around a bit! Am serving him up vegies tonight disguised with cheese and tomato sauce (his 2 favorite things)
Thank goodness it didn't go thru the whole family! that would of been a nightmare!!!
