which fertility specialist/ which clinic in Perth?
Hello everyone
This is my first post on BellyBelly
We have been TTC for 6 months but as I am 36 and DH is 39, my GP has adivsed we see a fertility specialist to find out if there is anything wrong. We've had no initial tests under the GP.
We live in Perth and I've done a bit of reseach and found several clinics: Concept, Hollywood, Fertility Specialist WA (and their partners FS south) and Pivet. I've excluded Fertility North as it would be too far away for us.
But now we are stuck. How on earth we supposed to decide between them? My GP wasn't very helpful and I don't personally know anyone how has been to a clinic. I've read posts, on this site and others, about the different clinics and individual specialist and there seem to be good and some bad said about all off them. Cost is a bit of consideration for us but isn't the main factor in our decision making. Having friendly and understanding staff and doctors is however important!
I would be very grateful if any of you out there could give tell me about your experience and recommendations! If there is negative feedback please PM me.
I've also come across a site were a trained counsellor in fertility says that in addition to offering a counselling service, she can make personal recommendation about which clinic is best for you... Does anyone have any experience of using this service?
Thanks very much ladies!
xxx

Hi..i am also new to BB, and was just browsing some info online, and came across your post.
I am new to the whole fertility thing also, we have a 3 y old daughter, but since have had 3 pregnancies (2 of them ectopic) we have decided to use concept fertility, there where a few reasons, mostly as i got alot of good feedback from friends that have used the clinic, and as it was a cheaper clinic (which is helpful for us, as we never took out ivf with our hbf, as never knew that would be doing ivf until this year) and a bit closer for us ( we are in Bunbury). we start are treatment next month (18th Jan) so far the staff have been great, very helpful and friendly. we got our appointments right away, which was great, as i heard that some clinics you can wait months to get in!
I do know the website you are referring to, and the person who runs this is an independent counsellor whom we saw @ concept, so she is able to give an unbiased opinion on the clinics available. she did mention in our session, that another clinic she would recommend would be Hollywood..
anyway feel free to PM if you want to have a chat..goodluck and i hope you find the right place for you!
