I was thinking of buying my DD a trike for Christmas, but I want her to have a balance bike when she's a bit older, and I'm wondering whether the trike will mess that plan up?

I saw the wishbone trike/balance bike which would solve this - anyone got one and what do you think of it? It's pretty expensive, does anyone know of anything similar that's a bit more affordable?!
