Has anyone been to Mauritius?
Tell me everything you know! Culture, what your thoughts on it were etc... Also, who did you fly with, and where was the stopover?

I have been several times. I have always flown from South Africa on Air Mauritius.
We always stay at Le Touessrok hotel on the east coast - the best hotel on the island in my opinion
It is a small place with a limited population with next to no crime. You can easily drive from one side of the island to the other in several hours.
Many of the people are poor, but most are employed (within the tourism industry). They are all so friendly and helpful.
The native tongue is a French Creole, but many speak english.
Besides tourism, they have a massive sugar-cane industry (you can get some really good, cheap rum there haha).
The capital is Port Louis and there is a some great (and cheap) shopping there. The traders around there can be very pushy.
There are lots of tourist attractions, besides the beaches. My favourite being their botanical gardens.
I would look on Wikipedia if you want some more specific information. Otherwise feel free to ask me and I will answer if I know.
It is a dream place and will always be one of my favourite destinations on earth!
