At what age did your DD/DS stop using nappies at night?
My DD is 2.5 and although we think it is way too early to stop using nappies at night she gets into bed and pulls her nappy off and puts her pants back on. Only when she is asleep do I sneak back in and put it back on. She doesnt get up and go to the toilet immediately so I am not sure if she is wetting at night or in the morning on the days that she is wet.
She toilet trained at around 21 months (by herself). I know there is a big vary for the norm. I was just wondering.
you could put a plastic sheet on the bed & see what happens. My ds went most of last summer with no night nappies, but when it got cold he needed them again.
he's just started going without again, but was having dry nappies first. he takes them off to wee in the mornings & they are dry.
if you wake befor her, check and see if her nappy is dry or not, if its dry still, and not to early wake her and get her to do a "morning wee" im doing this with my 3.5yo so i can tell if its just lazyness of a morning or if he dose still need them, 7 out of 10 are still dry befor i wake him.
DD1 had just turned 3 when she was night trained...she hasn't wet the bed once so was obviously very ready i think i underestimated her and probably could of taken the nappy away ages ago. DS was 4, i didn't do it earlier as he was still waking with a heavy pull up...i think sometimes we need to bite the bullet and just put down some plastic or some other form of protecting the sheets/mattress. I was dreading night training but it was surprisingly easy.
We have taken a bit of a step backwards, I decided to keep the nappies and just as well because those nights that we have been having dry are now heavily soaked since introducing her 'big' bed, which I figured some disruption was to be expected.
I am still interested in finding out what ages your kids were night trained though Im not in a rush for DD to be.
My DS day trained at 2.5 and then night trained just after he turned 3. I didn't worry about the night time and was happy to leave him in pull ups until he was completely dry but he desperately wanted to wear undies to bed so we went with it. The first couple of weeks were a bit of a disaster but he is good now. I think that if they don't have the nappies as a fall back they are more inclined to make the effort to stay dry.
my DD1 is 4.5 and still in a night nappy! shes been day trained for 18 months but just hasnt got that u need to get up to wee.
we thought it might have been becuase shehad a nappy on the she was weeing in it, we've tried knickers to bed a few times butshe isnt there yet
