MP - we had a while of the same after we had to do a nit treatment. If you can just try and do quick ones for a few weeks, hopefully you will find that one day he is a bit more interested. Maybe if he watches how much fun N is having in his bath? BTW, can't believe he is 17 months!

DS1 went through a phase like that at around same age took about 8 weeks to get over it then loved it again, we just showered him instead.

Does he like showers? We went through a stage of DS preferring showers, then he decided he hated showers and was back to baths.

DS hates the shower and went through an anti-bath phase a while back. Some nights we just skipped it altogether, or I'd just do a quick wipe down. I was having to actually get in with him to get him to have a bath too... thankfully he's gotten over it again now.

We still go through phases of hating the bath/shower. If I can't be bothered fighting him I just skip it, but the newest trick I have is getting him to pick a toy to take in. Its working this week.

I was just going to suggest the same thing. I ask DS1 what colour he wants and he chooses and quite happily gets in.

I also use to do lots of bubble blowing- using a cheap little bubble blowing bottle and fill it with the Johnson's hair shampoo.

As for showers we still struggle half the time, just depending the mood he is in. Usually he'll be ok though if i don't have the spray directly down (i turn the showerhead to the wall).

I have been keeping an eye out for those water crayons....not sure if they exist still, cause I thought this might make showers a little more fun. I remember we use to have some as a kid myself that were in the shape of cars in red, blue, yellow and green, they would colour the bath or tiles like crayons but easily wash away just with water...they were fun- my brother and I loved them. So if anyone knows of where to get these or similar ones- please do share.

We're going through anti-bath & only just tolerating the shower stage too. We're not making too much of a fuss with it, quick shower, in / out & not really even trying to scrub her too much. I figure she'll grow out of it & something else will be the next issue...

Thanks so much for the ideas... i am thinking it is something he will grow out of... at the moment he wont sit down so i just wash him with a cloth while he stands in there and then he is out...
we have those water crayons (DS1 uses) and also the colours for the bath (little coloured tablets you buy for the bath) - got them both at ELC.
    Thanks again ladies...
