NK Cell testing? Where to get it done and how much is it?

Hi girls just wondering if anyone has had the NK cell testing done and where you got it done in Sydney and how much it was?
Also why you had it done as im not sure i should get it done but after a few years of trying and i have had one miscarriage and a couple of failed attempts i was looking to get it done just to be sure??
    Thanks x

    Hi Blossom,

Are you seeing a FS? They are the ones who perform the biopsy. When you start seeing one they will possibly (depending on your history) suggest doing a few blood tests and a laparoscopy & hysteroscopy - to have a look at all your inside bits and could do a biopsy for NK cells then. There is also a blood test - which currently can only be done at St George hospital (or so they said). My FS told me that the blood test alone isn't reliable enough.

So, as for costs - it depends. My FS wouldn't do it in his clinic because he hadn't been able to get enough cells in the past, depending on the shape of your uterus & cervix. I guess some docs would still give it a go, which would be a lot cheaper. I had to do it in day surgery, so I paid my health insurance excess for the hospital , plus aneasthetist ($300) plus pathology ($450). The blood test was free.

Hope that helps and that your TTC journey ends very soon with a BFP!

Ahhhh, sorry - I just read your signature - sorry! I couldn't see it in the other view. Yes, you are obviously seeing a FS. Sorry, again!!!
