What size clothes did your newborn come home in?

I'm trying to pack a hospital bag and finding it hard! What size clothes did you pack for your newborn to come home in? I never packed one with DS. He came home in a suit given as a gift.

DS was in 000000 when he first came home, but a scan has shown our little girl is already roughly the same weight as he was, and she still has up to 7 weeks to grow ()!

So 0000 or 000? The list suggest taking 5 suits, 6 singlets - did you just take both sizes incase? I have some prem clothes at the ready just in case as well.

0000 for Joshua (7 lb), 00000 for Oskar (5 lb 12) and 0000 for Elijah (heavy weight 8 lb 8). Oskar was in small clothes for a long time but now he's right on par. I used the hossy gown thing until we were leaving... cos easier for changing nappies etc. I used my own beanies though. I was in 5 days with Joshua (c/s) 2 with Oskar and overnight with Elijah. I didn't need 5 changes of anything and if I did, DH could've brought more stuff in for me

DD was 7lb 6oz and came home in a 0000, but was in 000 within 3 weeks and I had soooo many gorgeous 0000 clothes she never had a chance to wear

For this baby I have a handful of 0000 things and the rest are 000, I figure it's not the end of the world if they are a tiny bit big for a few weeks

DS was 9lb and 53cms long when he was born. Went straight into 000. I did take some 0000 and they would've fit except for his long legs!

DD had room to grow into most 00000 and the premmie range from Pumpkin Patch. Bonds Wondersuits were roomy in a 0000. She was 6lb 8oz and moved into 0000 at around 5 weeks - lol! So cute!

DS was just under 7 pound, and he was in 0000, although they were floating on him a bit, but he he he needed them for the length. He was 0000 for a month or so.

I managed to cram my DS (10lbs 11oz!) into a large 0000, but really he was straight into 000. Pity as we had some very cute 0000 things that he just never wore!

DS came home in 0000, but was quickly into 000. I only had about 4 x 0000 suits, I figured they were a bit of a waste of money probably.

Even my friend whose twins were 6 weeks premmie wore the hospitals gear till they came home at just before 37 weeks gestation and they came home in 0000 - sure a bit big, but nothing wrong with that.

My kids were pretty long, DD went into 0000 at 3.4kg (7.6lb) but only just, and DS wouldn't have ever fit into anything smaller than 000! He was 4.2kg (9.24lb) I have just gotten this bub 000, I haven't bothered with the 0000. I doubt he'd fit into them at all or if he does it wouldn't be for long!!

    00000 for DD1 she was 6lb 11oz and 45cm
0000 for DD2 she was 6lb 11oz but 47cm... the length made the difference.

DD was 3.52kg (7lb12oz) and went home in 00000's. She was a shorty though (45cm) so they fitted her for a good 6 weeks.
