Gestational Diabetes Test

Okay so i had it today.

I didnt eat anything beforehand. So when the lady was taking my blood she asked if I had eaten. She said that I SHOULD have eaten and that I'll probably have to do it again? I bloody well hope not. I wasted 2.5 hours of my life there.

The result was 6 mmol/L. Which is good I think??

I thought the normal range for BSL was 3.5 - 8. But it might be different in pregnancy I dunno. I better not have to do it again. Although the glucoscan was kinda nice

I kinda liked the drink to! Never had a problem with it. I think the BSL's are the same pregnant and non-pregnant. Was that the formal result or a fingerstick test? They can vary quite a bit but I don't by that much

your insulin output actually doubles while ur pregnant, but yeh ur bsl's should be the same as ur non pergnant bsl's

I had to fast for the longer test, but I have read for the short on you don't have to.

It was a formal one. Yeah I read you can eat but I wanted to make sure it wouldnt be elevated

I was the same as kts, had to fast as I had the longer one, pretty sure you don't have to for the shorter test. Sounds to me like you did the right thing? I'm fairly certain I had to fast as I made it for first thing in the morning so I didn't have to go too long without eating!

Yeah, I was told to fast for the long test, not for the short one.
6 sounds good to me

When I had the short one mine came back at 8.0, so dead borderline, so I had to have the longer one, which was perfectly fine. So 6 sounds perfect
