    my first quilt

=) my mummy (in all her awesomeness)
gave me 10 different fabrics, all with skulls of them (cause i love skeletons and skulls). and she also gave me a book with 501 squares in it, so im going to make some squares and then put them together =) DH wants me to make some cusions, which could work, we will see how we got with my squares =)

im excited, i do have other projects i want to get done, but this is going to be fun!!!
my mum makes HEAPS of quilts, i have a double bed one, a lap one and our wedding quilt she made for us, plus she has made multiple ones for dad and both my brothers, (i'm now talking her into doing one for herself)

good luck! And don't forget a pic of the finished product
I love sewing, but I don't think I'd have the patience to do a quilt..lol. I'd probably get sick of it halfway through and the rest of it would sit there for 5 years before I got around to having another crack at it!

Lol, thats that I like about doing little sqares cause they wont take long and each will be diffetent
I once knitted a blanket by doing diffrrent squares, and it also means I can just do a couple and just use them for something smaller.

mainly, when sewing the damn thing together...i thought i did it the best way, sewed the little ones to long ones first, then the big piece...but obviously wasn't was really fiddly and tricky and didnt line up...

what is the best easiest way to sew the pieces together??

So so SOOO cool! I've been wanting to make a quilt for a while (and by m'make', I mean get some squares, sew them together, sew in some padding stuff to make it warm and sew the backing on LOL), and you have inspired me to do it!!
