    Butt Pimples

This is beginning to drive me batty.....

My 2.5 year old toilet trained DD has pimple on her behind. They are big and red and have whiteheads. She might only have 1 or 2 at a time and just as one clears another appears.

The problem is that as they are clearing they are scarring!!!

I have been to the doctors and more doctors and they all keep putting me on the same things.

    Hydrozole, nothing
    Canisten (sp??), nothing
    nappy rash creamS, nothing and
    Hydrocortizone cream, nothing

    Airing it, nothing

Next step is to try a pimple wash?!?

Has anyone ever had this same problem, if so what was it and what did you do to treat it.

    TIA

P.s the one time it did clear she was on antibiotics for an infection, as soon as she finished taking them it came back within a week.

Do the doctors agree they're pimples or do they think they are something else? Is it just a GP you have sen or have you been referred to a paed?

I used to get these all the time and after lots of tests etc, it was discovered it was a staph infection.....mine only cleared after a long course of antibiotics - have not had any for nearly a year now.

The doctors haven't done any tests one says it's from the heat another says it's from her wetting herself, of which I insisted she was out of nappies. Do you think I should suggest a swab test to check for staph? They don't think it's bad whatever it is because she only gets a couple at a time. It's the scarring that worrying me

do they seem to bother her? mine were painful hence why i pushed for more investigation! like your DD, mine would clear and another would be waiting to take its spot (which to me just wasn't normal, and my GP agreed). I'd get a further opinion, but thats just me, i hated them!

    goodluck

Can you take her there while age has one that has a head, then they can send a sample to be tested to rule out a bacterial infection. If it's that then that would explain why it seems to clear with antibiotic treatment

Its not molluscum is it? Does she do swimming? I caught molluscum when I was a swimming instructor, they are like little pimples.

I have taken her to the doctor when it's had heads. I'll definitely take her back again.

I've never heard of molluscum until now, she does do swimming but I had a look at some photos of it and it doesn't really look like that. Thanks though
