I've had some foils done (reddish colour) a couple of times and apart from not liking the smell of them much, they've not really taken very well at all. I've got dark brown hair with an increasing amount of grey and was considering using henna.
Where do you buy yours - how do you make sure it's the real deal and not some dodgy stuff calling itself henna or 'natural'? How easy is it to do on your own, considering I've got zero experience in dying hair?
For those of you with dark hair, how has it covered grey? I'm not stressing out too much about that side of things (I found my first grey hair at 16, so I'm used to them!) but it would be nice to have a change.
I have fully blogged my Henna experience, you can click the link (in my sig) but you might have to scroll down a few entries.
I will NEVER go back to anything but henna.....it is very different from chemical/hairdresser/home colour, but in a really good way. Yep, it's like applying mud (or horsepoo lol) and the only thing you have to be wary of is "Black Henna".
I googled 'henna for hair' and there is a wealth of information available. Apparently it's excellent for covering greys.
ETA - I'd rope in a GF to help you if you haven't dyed your hair at home before.
Thanks guys, Lulu, I couldn't remember where I'd read about it then realised after you posted that it was on your blog I've heard some good reports about grey coverage too, just wanted to make sure it was across the board (I've got...uh... quite a bit!)
