Ok, so I am sure I mentioned the dairy thing before in a thread that was lost with the 2 missing weeks, but just for anyone who missed it...
She does not like milk, although she used to love it. When given a piece of bday cake with fresh cream, she didn't realise it was fresh (she is fine with mock which is what we usually had on bday cakes - moving to the country, they all have fresh now) and gagged and near threw up from one mouthful.
Anyway, more recently she has been struck with insanely fluctuating weigh/bloating/swelling. I honestly do not know which one it is and the doctor today was completely uninterested in finding out because she looked 'fine' when we went in. Instead she gave me a dressing down about how I need to "watch what bad food you are feeding her"..
Also she has some very obvious 'male pattern hair growth' on her arms and legs. I mean her arm hair is thicker, coarser and longer than mine! She is 9! It however is about the same as her dads. Apparently thats my fault too and she is just genetically pre-disposed to it.. (Before anyone starts, I would have accepted that answer if it was concluded at the end of actual testing for hormonal imbalances and other causes of MPHG on girls).
Finally, her choking and retching at dairy products is a 'fad'.
Ok, so maybe that was more of a vent, but its there. Like on the way home I bought her a small marshmallow treat and she bloated right out again. I know sugary foods can make you fat but not THAT fast.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be. I would love to go see a doctor but at this point in time with xmas right on top of us less are becoming available and there is no point going to her again - and I know better than to dare disturb the doctors at the hospital with my irrational hypochondria....
(PS, yes I did look at Dr google, but I wasn't actually looking for any real 'problem', just if there was something I could do about her mphg)
Possible IBS triggered by dairy for the bloating etc, although the marshmallow doesn't really fit that hmmm... can you get a referral to get allergy testing done? Hope you get a dr to listen to you soon and get some answers - I know it isn't ideal, but could you give her a 'trigger' food at the dr's so they can see what is happening?
