    Can DD Sense Something?

For the past few nights DD (8) has been having nightmares

There were 2 in particular that have really upset her.

1 - I collected her from school and was heading towards the car when I turned and looked at her and said 'Sorry, you are not part of the family anymore' ...

2 - Last night she had a dream an alien with a big head killed her. She showed me a pic of the alien and it kinda looked like a bub in the early weeks - BIG head and small body.

It got me thinking though - Can she sense something? She has had bad dreams before, but never to the point shes crying at my bedside wanting a cuddle.

DP and I have been spending ALOT more time with her the past few weeks because she is on holidays.

    Thoughts?

It sounds like she has a fear of being displaced. Does she know you're pregnant? If not - I think she's sensed it.

I would suggest getting some of those books that talk about 'baby in Mummy's tummy' sort of stuff to allay her fears a bit. Maybe let her know of the special things she'll need to do to help bubs.

    HTH..

    Thanks for replying Nettie.

At that point in time Dd didn't kno I was pregnant. She does now tho And no more nightmares!

My original thoughts were she had sensed something, but wasnt too sure. Now its clearer, because since she's found out no more nightmares

That's really interesting! I'm glad the nightmares have now stopped.

That is good news. Perhaps she sensed you were withholding something from her?

I had dreams about aliens at the same age.

DD knew i was UTD before I knew. She's the reason I tested and was adamant something was up. 3 weeks prior to my BFP, DD was super clingy, had nightmares and would scream everytime I left the room. She's settled down now a bit but still won't let me have a sleep in because if DP says brekky time then she clings to me. I think she might be okay after seeing an ultrasound because her comprehension is pretty good. I have been making sure I keep reassuring her that I'm not going anywhere and I give her heaps of cuddles and kisses.
