Best hotel in Melb for night out or other suggestions??

Ok so it is our anniversary next week - I am thinkign of surprising DH with a night out. I have no idea where to stay and what is good value for money or will be a great experience.
Where would you stay?

What a great surprise! My friends rave about the Sofitel and the Crown Towers. I'm interested in the replies as DH & I are planning on a night away next year!

Park hyatt is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! crown towers looks nice as well!

check out the last minute booking websites.. whotif and last minute, you may get a great hotel for alot less

I love the grand hyatt, we gone twice and it's recently been upgraded. It was for our anniversary and they gave us free choccies and champers. Great old fashioned service!

The Windsor is lovely for a bit of old world charm, we stayed there on our wedding night they upgraded us up to a suite for free!

We usually stay at 'Club Sofitel'. It is a bit exxy

Crown is beautiful! Go through wotif. Amazin restaurants, and the pool there is gorgeous. Can't wait to go back!

Thanks for the suggestions! I will have a look at wotif, lastminute etc. Crown seemed more exxy but perhaps is worth it? Off to check it out...
