We used to go on holidays to Sandy Point when we were kids.

A few years ago we took the kids to Venus Bay, that was really nice, it's out Phillip Island way. The beach was wild though, not really suitable for kids swimming but we had a ball. There were walking tracks which we rode bikes on where Kangaroos hung around. We did day trips to WIlsons Prom, Phillip Island and Wonthaggi. It was a really nice holiday

Didnt go costal as a child as we have a family hol house in Bright, but my parents now own a second house at Inverloch, so have gone there for the past few years.

THis year we stayed with my sister who lives in Rye, but it was just NUTS down there.

Wilsons Prom, I love it! Great beaches, great walks, tidal river for the kids. New facilities in the last cpl yrs. Powered or unpowered sites and a great family environment!
Can't wait to take our little girl every yr

We went to Wilson's Prom too. I loved Squeaky Beach and feeding the rosella's.
Inverloch is very nice as well. Venus bay is great as Tinks has said.
I remember going to Merrimbula with my friends family and that was nice.

I love all of those places! Most recently we've been to Inverloch, I like it because we don't go while it's school hols, and we've also stayed in holiday houses, so it's a bit more settled. It'd be fun to go with another family I reckon, we've gone with DH's family which meant there was someone at home at night if we decided to go out for dinner or for a late night coffee/ice-cream/beach walk.

    Places not yet mentioned.....
Wye river is great for kids. Cumberland river is awesome too, not as commercial.

    Pt Leo is great.

My all time fave but has NO facilities you need to be totally self sufficient is Aire River.

Yep, everyone should come to pt Leo, and meet up with me! I'm just down the road.

Sandy point was said earlier. It's beautiful. Shallow inlet near there is the best beach for young kids.
