Oh no! I mean yay that they offered but oh nooooo! Is there any way of letting them know that if the job ever comes up again you're in the wings? What a bittersweet thing!

nah, its not really a job for someone with a family.... It was just an out of the blue offer from an old friend that I haven't caught up with in years and didn't know my current family status. Oh well....

    Onwards to the next adventure!

Huge hugs Winter I too know what it’s like to turn down a job opportunity and chose to be a parent (mine didn’t sound quite as exciting as yours though). It really tugs at your heart from all directions, doesn’t it.

The sacrifices we make for kids eh?! Not that I'd put them back, but it does bite when something like that comes up. Nice to be offered though I guess.

I don't know Audax, I could have very easily have hopped on a plane to get away from DD this afternoon!!! She was being a complete maddie, running around, trying to lick me, climbing up on me to 'squish' me except she says it like gueeeesh! Did I mention the licking? She's spent almost all day in the nuddy, her dad has had to hose her down in the shower to try and get the dirt out from all her crevices! She was running around yelling BUM, BUM, BUM in the backyard and the dog is currently sporting blue and red spots of paint on her from when DD was painting. And have I mentioned the licking?

urgh, DD does the licking sometimes too. Drives me SPARE.

I sorta know how you feel, I have my dream job just sitting and waiting for me since November but I can't start until I can get the kids sorted with school. I can't wait to be able to start telling people what to do and actually have them listen to me lol. No one there would DARE lick me.

Wow Lulu, that's great that you've got your dream job waiting for you! Only a couple of weeks and the kids will be at school and you'll be able to get stuck in, boss people around and get paid for it! Yippee!

I'm not really devastated, I am lucky to be a SAHM but this is the sort of job that I'm really good at, the money would have been excellent and the roster....well...no point dreaming. It's just got me at a time when my brain feels like it is starting to atrophy from lack of use and I am itching for an overseas adventure. I'm just playing the "what if..." game in my head.

And the licking is truly disgusting - where do they get it from??

Yay on the offer, bugger to the timing! But it is nice to know that someone thinks you're brilliant

DS licks too. Must be a common thing.

You should be proud that you were offered your dream job! You obviously would be eeeeeeexcellent at it IF you wanted it!

What's wrong with licking?? I like to lick. I lick my kidlets all the time. DD2 is the only one who doesn't complain. It's sorta feline I think? Dunno. Always licked the kidlets. 'Specially on the side of the head. Mmmmm... nice.
