Some of you may have seen on my fb that DD is most likely ready to TT.
However...I am clueless. I wasn't even planning on starting until after 2.
Okay - here are the facts at the moment:
We live in a unit/flat and the laundry door opens into the laundry and directly onto the toilet door. So to get to the toilet, you have to open the laundry door, squeeze behind it, close it, then you can open the toilet door and get to the toilet. Hence, getting *anyone* to the toilet in a hurry (even me in the middle of the night LOL) is a pita.
I can't lift her at the moment becuase of SPD (even up to the toilet)
She suddenly changed - a couple of weeks ago - from saying "no" to every offer of a nappy change (even when it was blatantly obvious she needed one) to saying "yes"
She can tell you *after* she has done "wee wee" or "poo poo", but not before. During nappy free time outside she shows no signs of being aware before she wees...she just looks down to the general area a split second beforehand, wees all over the courtyard and says "WATER!"
She has very recently gone from screaming and crying at the suggestion of sitting on the potty, to calmly and happily sitting on it when asked.
She can take off her wet and dirty nappies if wearing a dress.
She also knows to wash her hands after every nappy change. I know this isn't needed, but we thought a while ago that we'd teach her the habit of washing after toileting.
She's 19 months old, 13.5 kilos but rather tall...suggestions on knickers for bumless kids? I have some Pumpkin Patch ones in a 1-2 which I used ages ago for summer nappy covers :-P and will use them in the meantime, but, any cheaper suggestions?
What will daycare do to help? If we start now, she'll be the only one in her room TT. Will they bother at all? She's in 5 days a week.
We are renting and fully carpeted...so would love to be able to avoid poo on the floor/rubbed into things as much as humanly possible...so want to make sure we do this right!
Sorry for all the questions...I just don't want to do it 'wrong' and essentially make her confused or anything.
oh gosh the TT stage lol ive never had a girl yet at that age but with my boys my elder two i found easy n where TT at 16 months old but with the help of my x MIL..
i used to put the potty in a place that was an obvious visual so they wouldnt forget about it n always alsked them constantly r u ready?? lol
i would prob put the potty in the laundry where she is comfortable she sounds as though she is ready to start but they can change their mind so many times during that u wanna pull uyr hair out n give up
have u tried her in the training pants??
or put her in knickers so she doesnt rely on the nappies??
but that will result in quiet a few accidents until she realises whats happening with nappies they absorb it really fast so she might not know straight away..
with boys its alot different so i doubt anything i can offer is suitable for lil girl TT compared to boys...

But I started this thread so we can share ideas/ frustrations/ success if you feel like chatting about it or just checking out what others are doing.
No idea where to start. Please help an ignoramus.
