Spotting after mirena removal

I had my mirena removed a few weeks ago and have had a light period and spotting ever since. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel a bit down by it all. I saw my doc today and referred me to have an ultrasound on Monday to rule out cysts/ fibroids

I had the opposite problem - I had mine out and the next month I was bleeding so heavy I was flooding pads in an hour and had clot after clot after clot come out in the shower. It could just be that the mirena is still having an effect on you and you may need a little more time to get back to normal, but it is a good idea to rule out other causes first though.

Just an update.. had an ultrasound done and everything is normal so no cysts. The doctor seemed to think that the constant bleeding was due to me weaning my 14 month old rather then having the mirena out. So she has put me on the pill to regulate my cycle. But I'm still spotting So fustrating this has been going on for 5-6 weeks now. Might seek out an acupunturist to help maybe?
