Hating nappy changes!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I have a 20 month old who is oh so adorable and hilarious but come to her nappy changes my husband and i shudder!!
I thought it might have been a phase but i cant even remember when this started it has been going for so long! She wont listen and come to us to be changed , she wriggles so bad and if she does poos trying to keep her hands out can be a nightmare. It is so stressful and we have tried diversions and being all happy etc but its becoming absolutely horrible, I dont want to change her!
She is one strong little munchkin to so even to try and change her myself can be soooo hard without the hubby around!
So please anyone who can give us some advice it would very much appreciated!

I don't have any real advice, cos its a stage kids seem to go through (well 2 of mine have so far) and you just hold them down as much as you can and make it bloody quick.. LOL

If she's not pooy maybe change her standing up - DS seemed to prefer that.
It does seem to be a stage. But yeah, be quick.

I know you've said you've tried diversions but have you tried giving her something to hold/play with? My 12 mo is a wriggler and will touch his nether regions (yucko when covered in poo!). I give him strange stuff to hold - a dummy still in its package; crinkly wrapping paper that makes a noise; an almost empty packet of wipes (providing he doesn't pull them out and suck them ...). Things that he'd never ordinarily hold and/or play with. It's a hard one and I just think you've got to try and be as inventive as you can to distract them. Good luck.

My cousin who uses MCNs just made the nappy waists a little looser and used them like underwear. Her son was quite stoked he was a big boy.

With DD I had a period of 3ish months where if DP was home he'd have to pin her down while I changed DD. that got exhausting until I realised DD likes her doll''s bum to be changed so now we do dolly's bum then hers. So DD's doll has her own stash of MCNs now
