New York, my favourite place of all time. It is such an exciting place, so much to do. Location wise is great as it's a reasonable flight distance to numerous other fab places too.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? And has anyone lived in Europe?

Chicago. My most favourite place in the world.
But am living in a pretty awesome place, chosen by us - BRISBANE!
Where we are now, I love suburbia but I would love to have a holiday home at 'Big White' in Canada so we could stay there each Winter and snowboard... sigh* What about you Cherished1?
Wow 2 in the states and one in Canada! I love where we are now on the sunny coast but I was thinking more of Europe, not that I've been there.
Greece, without a doubt. I love the Greek Islands and would move there in a flash if I had the opportunity! I've had some amazing holidays there and the people, the beaches, the atmosphere...amazing!
I would (and did) choose Brisbane without a doubt. Do love Europe though, I lived in Japan for 2 years and the UK for four after I finished uni. If I had to pick a place in Europe it would be hard, so many amazing places. The people in Spain are fantastic and they have a really good way of life. Although I also loved Stockholm as a city and the Netherlands is gorgeous.
OK- I have not helped you at all and now I have itchy feet. Have to wait til we take bubs back to Scotland to meet DH's family, then I can get my travel fix...

Not sure...If I couldn't live in Australia or New Zealand I would probably want to live in UK or Argentina. It depends on what you want more. UK would be for lots of cheap travel through Europe while Argentina would be because I LOVE South America and Buenos Aires is a really great base for traveling around.
We lived in London for 18 mths prior to DD1 - Absolutely loved it, in fact it is one of my most favourite places in the world.Loved the location - so accessible to anywhere in Europe, loved the feeling, the atmosphere, the rain, the houses, the EVERYTHING! Loved it so much that we took the kids there last June, and much to our delight they loved it too!
The other place I would love is Croatia, but I am biased as both DH and I have family there and holiday houses there - my families house is literally right on the water on an island in a village where only 12 people live in winter and it swells to 150 in summer. You walk out the door and the beach is right outside, around 6-7 metres to the water. Can you tell I love it?We are planning on moving there in around 2-3 years time for around a year provided some finances come through and we are able to build our own house on my fathers land (couldnt stay with family for a year!).
But truth be known also, Perth is a pretty good place to raise children too. Kind of cant compete on a number of factors.
Wow so many wonderful places to goBasically dh and I are talking about moving somewhere where he can get a much higher paid job so that I don't have to go back to work. (not sure if anyone saw my thread on work ideas from home) anyway there is opportunities in the UAE and we thought we could maybe live in Europe so the flight back to the UAE wasn't as long and on dh's weeks off we'd see Europe kwim but we'd have no idea where to base ourselves from as neither of us have been there. Does anyone know where the most economical place would be to live? He could really get a job anywhere around the world but we like the money on offer in the UAE so thought it'd be a great opportunity to see Europe at the same time.... Mind you since posting this yesterday some other opportunities have come up and we may be staying put... I'd say we will have made a decision within the next 2 weeks

I have always wanted to go back to Sweden. The small time I spent there in 2002 was amazing, I loved it so much. I went over for a dance camp but spent the first week just out of Stockholm and it was incredible. Of course I went over there in June/July so it was their summer. I really loves the old cobble streets and all the old old buildings. The Royal palace thats away from the city was gorgeous, the gardens *sigh* I loved the stations along the railway system too, each had a different theme it was so clever and made them less boring. If I ever got to go back I would like to explore the country side. I am still infatuated with all their barns red with door archs etc painted in white ...classic!!
How exciting Cherished!!!! If you do end up coming over, make sure you come say hello to me!!!! xxx
Sweden sounds fantastic! amy, not sure I mentioned WA hon? but if I am ever over there I will def have a few BB gals to meet up with! We have a few friends over there actually so you never know![]()
We are going to Europe in March, Can't wait but im pretty sure London or Boston USA would be my place's of choice without a doubt..
London - as DH family live all around there
Boston - because heaps of friends live around there![]()
Amy I'd LOVE to see you in Europe!!!! Can you imagine? Wow you will have such a wonderful time!
UPDATE: The really great income thing we may have landed to be able to stay where we are is not panning out like we had hoped, or at least not on such a grand scaleThere are a couple more opportunities to investigate so fingers crossed one works for us. It will be a few more days yet unitll know the details of the UAE stuff and then we'll access all the options.
There are still lots of you who really like the states. We have a really good friend (DS's Godfather) over there who would welcome us to live with him and his partner and in fact invited us to just a month ago! But we had never really considered it. Who knows where things will take us, we have put out for it and now we get to see what shows up
I know it would be amazing! Imagine the shopping oppurtunitiesI dont know how im going to manage on a backpackers income hahahaha.
We are heading to the markets tomorrow to sell all out stuff before we leave so fingers crossed we make some good money
The states would be amanzing hun but keep in mind it is near on impossible to get a working visa for the states. My friend has just had his finally approved and he has been waiting for 6 years!!!!
