I just had mine done the other day and I call it a Brazillian and she goes, do you want a strip and the back done, so I think they will usually clarify anyway!! FWIW I love it, I just started getting it done regularly and the first one was horrific because I had let it get to amazon down there and it took quite a while to do and was painful, the redo 8 weeks later ( a bit longer than I would have liked but time crept up on me!) was heaps better, took way less time and although still ouchy it was nowhere near as painful. The place I go is only $35 too and after 5 sessions one is half priced and then after 10 sessions you get one free.

Make sure you ask for your bottom too if you want it done. It doesn't hurt

out of curiousity, what positions do you have to get into for them to wax everything? the xxx wax

I usually wax myself (all of it except obviously the bits i can't reach) and would love to get someone else to do it so I can keep it up more regularly, but the whole positions thing weirds me out...

Depends. I get clients to lie on their side to do their bottom and on back with one leg out in a triangle shape for each side and underneath i also provide disposable g strings so i work around them so clients are flashing it all out there IYKWIM!

What about larger clients Joeve? I'd love to get waxed (sounds kinda wrong) but I'm a generous slice o' woman, so I'm kinda embarrassed about it!

Depends who does it but one time I lay on my side with my bottom leg straight and the other leg bent across. The last time I went I lay on my back and hugged my knees while she did it.
Keike, don't be embarrassed hun, they see all shapes and sizes and the ones I have seen are really friendly. I have mega rolls on my tummy and scars from the c/s' and they don't blink an eye.

My beautician was awesome and made me feel comfortable when I went starkers.

My waxer was so relaxed when I was a tad nervous and she said she enjoys her job and really doesn't mind what people look like. She's REALLY professional and you'll find most of them are. She said the only thing that bothers her is if someone comes in while they have AF and don't change their tampon prior. I think that would repulse me too.

The first time I went it was all rather painful but it was so much less painful second round. First round I just went for a standard bikini wax to see how it'd go pain wise but second I jumped in full brazillian (minus landing strip!). Ironically it seems my pain threshold is better during pregnancy despite the increased blood flow

I am so happy with the results of waxing that it's a regular thing now!

    HTH

ETA: I tried myself a couple of times but it appears my technique is sucky! By the time I stuffed around I might as well have marched up to the beauticians and had her defuzz me in under an hour

Yes I think once you have been once or twice thats realy all it takes to get over the initial embarrasment. Helle- it is SO much easier than doing it yourself, takes less time and I find it so messy when I do it myself.

I can't imagine going during AF - that is one of the reasons I had a big gap this time was that there was NO way I would go during AF.

I was a tad grossed out why people would too. Oh well I guess if people are comfortable with that then whatever flots their boat.

I am plus sized and have never had a problem...just go to a professional place, not a gross chain beautician. I went to one once, she let me into the room and there were cotton strips with wax, hair and BLOOD, ALL over the room. I was grossed out...and that's from someone who is usually *never* grossed out!

You get what you pay for, I find.

There's a place in Perth that charges something like $80 but garuntees (pfft poor spelling today!) to get a XXX style one done in 5 minutes or less. Waxing is all they do.

Ooh, could you PM me the details please? I suppose I can put up with intense pain for only 5 minutes

Size doesn't matter Keike the only prob I have found with one of my bigger ladies is that the g strings come in one size only so she doesn't wear it but I also have a towel so she covers the side I am not doing. Makes no difference to me but clients sometimes feel more secure with something covering something!
Also girls please don't see a beautician who doens't wear gloves and doesn't use disposable waxing spatulas...kills me that people don't ..... its not hygenic for you..... I wear gloves for all waxing apart from eyebrows....
