    Inconclusive.... (Long Sorry)

I am being put through the ringer with this pregnancy right now. I have been in the ER for 5 hours had my blood drawn twice and everything is turning up inclonclusive. My ultrasound showed a gestational sac at 5wks 1 day but apparently too early to see a fetal pole. My hcg levels are rising super slow. First level was 1030 and than 42 hours later they were 1800. Nurse isnt happy with that either...inclonclusive. She wanted to put me through the ringer of blood tests every other day and I finally said no. I agreed to an ultrasound next week if I dont pass the baby this weekend. By then the levels "Should" see a heartbeat and if not than I know its gone....I am still spotting. Sometimes barely nothing sometimes dark brown sometimes brownish red.. sometimes pink...nothing that would fill a pad in a day. I just get to sit at home not knowing wether I should even have hope. I cant stop crying and need some people to give me some advice. Some truthful advice. If you think I am going to lose this baby I dont mind you saying it...If you have gone through this I would love to hear it. If you just want to say anything I am fine. I just need to talk to someone. I have gone through a miscarriage before and its hard. I am getting ready for my wedding and should be happy but Im so depressed.

Sorry hun, but I had a really similar thing happen when I had my first miscarriage in 2007. I went through days of being told that I was losing my baby, then everything was okay as the hcg levels were rising. Ultrasounds showed the same as yours, sac but no pole or yolk sac. After about a week of innumerous blood tests and 2 ultrasounds, I finally miscarried. It was sad but in a way it was a relief to have a final answer.

I will pray for a better outcome for you though. I truly hope you have a sticky bub that was just conceived a little later than you think

OK - the hard truth. It is inconclusive. Unfortunately that won't be what you want or need to hear right now

Bloods every 48-72 hours should indicate a BHCG that is doubling. This will tell you if the pregnancy is progressing or if the levels have dropped it indicates the pregnancy is failing to progress. Otherwise an U/S at 6-7 weeks should show a HB and measurements that continue to correlate with your dates.

There can be many reasons for scant blood loss in early pregnancy - implantation, subchorionic haematoma, threatened miscarriage etc etc. The first few weeks before a HB is likely to be seen are the hardest because there is no test that will predict whether or not the pregnancy will continue or not. None of this makes it any better and it still hurts. The waiting makes it even harder

Thank you ladies for your honesty. Its nice to hear. Everyone is so sure everything will turn out fine but my intuition is teling me its not. I just have a feeling I will miscarry. Thats why I chose to ignore the Blood tests. I would rather switch to u/s because that is definite..no heartbeat means no baby...Im not scared just honestly ready for it to be over

    Hi Jessica
I cannot offer you any advise but just want to give you lots of cyber hugs
I cant believe that this is happening and I think that you are very brave with the way you are handling it.

I'm going through the waiting game myself at the moment and understand how you're feeling right now.

You are still only early in the pregnancy so maybe in a few more days there will be a heartbeat....

in my experience , I had bright red blood to indicate my miscarriage, anything brown is old and pink is ok too apparently....

I also had very bad cramping.... stay strong ......

Mum2Romone- I started with 10 minutes of bright red blood 3 days ago. It had no clots and when I say 10 minutes I mean after 10 minutes it switch to brown and has stayed ever since. The bright red blood was not enough to fill a bllood but more than spotting

Ok, I will prob confuse you more sweets.. xoxoxo
It can take 48-72 hrs for levels to double.. so with levels around 1000, you would like 2000 within 72 hrs, and with 1800 in 48hrs, the numbers look good to me.
I dont think they would rise at all if their was no live baby... just my opinion.....

BUT.. I have had this twice( old brown blood, no cramping) and lost both babies...

I also had it a third time, and have a healthy 17 wk old belly bub too.....

So really, you are in limbo my poor friend.. fingers crossed for you, and all my thoughts lovely... xoxoxoxo

    Huge hugs Jessica.

I am going through a similar waiting game after my u/s on Tuesday at 7.5w showed no heartbeat, just a fetal pole, and a sack that was almost 2 weeks behind. I dont think Ive got much hope left, but I have read many stories of miracles happening and babies pulling through and I am holding onto this. I know it is not good, but thinking it is all over is just too hard for me to even bear right now. I am choosing to be positive until told otherwise.

Your hcg is rising which is the most important thing at this point, slowly, but it is increasing. I dont know whether it will be ok or not, but I do know just how hard this wait is.

Its almost a relief. The not knowing was killing me. It will be tough but I know this was for a reason
