    What's your "healing" food that you eat when sick?

    When I am sick with a cold or etc I used to make a variation of Pasta Carbonara with LOADS of Garlic - carbs, fat and garlic basically lol. This was in my pre-vegan time.

    My healthier vegan version includes again, loads of onion and garlic (ie: an inhumane amount of garlic!), lots of broccoli (flower and stalk), nutritional yeast, greens (spinach/asian greens) and whatever other veg I feel like (which is usually not many when I am ill hehehe) in a carbonara-type vegan sauce.

    So what's your 'Chicken Soup'? What do you make and eat when sick?

    Mines real simple, not quite food...a cup of hot sweet tea always does wonders for me.

    Definitely sweet tea. Loads of it! I'm not the world's biggest eater and when I'm sick, I go right off food... tins of Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup with buttered toast (and a glass of Coke on the side!) is about all I can stomach when I'm unwell... hope you're feeling better soon hun! x

    Anything with celery in it - cooked. I believe in the powers of celery.
    Ditto for barley.
    And pasta in broth. Comfort food.

    Tomato seafood soup with loads of garlic in it. The combination of Vit C from soup, zinc from the seafood, plus the garlic works wonders.

    good old fashioned chicken noodle soup like my Mummy used to make. If I'm too sick to make it, Continental Chicken Noodle Soup comes in as the "very-sick-MG's-my-husbands-too-much-of-an-ass-to-make-me-soup" version. When I make it, I use;

    boiling water
    grated potato
    grated carrot
    diced celery
    shredded cabbage
    chicken stock
    continental chicken noodle soup (for the noodles and extra flavour)

    sometimes I put chicken wings and noodles in it.

    For me it's plain old buttery vegemite toast. DH loves garlic bread when he's sick.
